Zeitfluss is a luminous sculpture that captures the poetic interplay between time and the element of water, materialized through a series of fluorescent acrylic spirals. These spirals, delicate yet dynamic, are carefully arranged to interact with natural and artificial light in different ways throughout the day and night.
By day, the spirals cast gently curved shadows that recall the meandering path of the nearby Isenbach stream. As night falls, the installation is backlit with LED strips, emitting soft blue hues that transform the connecting corridor of the Salinarium into a space with the ambience of an underwater world.
The spiral forms of the acrylic panels reflect and refract light in ways that echo the shifting surfaces of moving water.
Depending on the time of day and season, the ever-changing light conditions give rise to a variety of visual scenarios—sometimes subtle and meditative, other times vivid and immersive—making each visit a unique experience shaped by the passage of time itself.
